What is Search completion?


Search completion is a service that suggests relevant phrases and terms to users while they are typing in a search box. Completions are based on the partial text they type in. Search completion is displayed under the search box and dynamically changes as you type.

Will Complitly work with my Web browser and operating system?


Complitly will work with Internet Explorer versions 6 and higher, Firefox 2 and higher and Chrome.
The add-on supports 32 bit versions of Windows XP and Vista.

How do I uninstall Complitly?


You can easily uninstall Complitly using the instructions below for Windows XP:

  1. Close all open Web browsers
  2. From the "Start" menu in Windows, select "Control Panel"
  3. Select "Add/Remove Programs"
  4. Select the program with the text "Complitly" (or our partner’s brand for a custom tool)
  5. Click "Change/Remove"

You can easily uninstall the Toolbar using the instructions below for Windows Vista:

  1. Close all open Web browsers
  2. From the "Start" menu in Windows, select "Control Panel"
  3. Under the "Programs" icon, select "Uninstall a program"
  4. Select the program with the text "Complitly" (or our partner’s brand for a custom tool)
  5. Click "Uninstall" and then "Continue" to remove the Toolbar

If you reopen your Web browser and still see the Tool, you may need to restart your computer for the uninstall process to be completed.

How do I determine which browser version I have?


For internet explorer - go to the Help menu located at the top of your browser. Select “About Internet Explorer.” A window will appear that tells you what version you have. For firefox - go to the Help menu located at the top of your browser. Select “About Mozila Firefox.” A window will appear that tells you what version you have.

What are the system requirements for installing Complitly?


Installing Complitly requires roughly 400 KB of free disk space on your drive. If you are currently able to run a supported Web browser on your computer, you should have no problem running Complitly. In addition to free space on your hard drive, you will need a supported Web browser and operating system , a computer with 256MB of RAM, a mouse or similar pointing device and Internet access.

Does Complitly track where I go on the Internet?


No! We do not engage in tracking your browsing. Complitly interacts with websites you visit only so it can match the search completion to the content of the specific site you're search on. We value your right to privacy are passionate about winning and keeping your trust as a valued user. Please review Complitly privacy policy here for more information.

Is your Complitly "spyware"?


NO! We are completely "spyware" free. Period! Complitly was specifically designed to provide a great user experience free of spyware, adware, data collection or other similar activities.
In order to achieve that goal:

  • Complitly software DOES NOT monitor the websites visited by the end user for any purpose other then enabling search completion for these sites.
  • Complitly software DOES NOT serve or facilitate pop-up ads. Many applications are identified as spyware because they monitor end-user Internet usage and pop-ups. Complitly does not engage in any such practices.
  • We do NOT require you to provide any personal information. No email address, registration or other information is required to use the product. Unlike many other products, we do not attempt to collect data upon startup as a requirement of use.
In short, Complitly provides a superior search experience on an ANONYMOUS basis and without any additional monitoring or other nuisances.

Features

How do I enable or disable the various Complitly features and settings?


To access the setting menu, click the "settings" icon within the search completion menu. A list of features will be displayed. Choose on/off for each, and click the "save" button.

Enable/disable the use of my search history for search completion?


Complitly can use your search history to offer enhanced and more personalized search completions. Chose on/off from the "settings" menu to enable this option.

Display recommended search URLs


This option will add recommended search destinations for your keywords. Selecting one of the destinations can help you narrow down your search and find new sites that match your topics of interest.

Display quick links for faster navigation


Quick links to display a direct link for when you're typing a site name in the search box. For example, typing "Facebo…" will display the link www.facebook.com in the quick links section. Navigation was never that easy.

When I copy text, paste it to the search box


Highlighting a word/phrase and using a "copy" command, will automatically paste it in to the search box n that page, for quicker search for the specific word/phrase.

Display search phrase translation to English


This feature will display a direct to transition to English, from your native tongue search expression, in real time. This is very helpful when searching for content and wanting results also from English sites.

Display "Twitt My Search" Button


"Twitt My Search" will send your search query and destination site automatically to twitter. Sharing your search rather then result is the right way to share your interests.

Can Complitly help me keep using my preferred web search engine?


Yes we can. We are aware that sometimes your search engine of choice might change without your full awareness of concept. To help you keep the experience you like, we've come up with a feature that will allow you to take control over where you search.
To activate this feature all you need to do is:
  1. Access your settings menu, by clicking the logo in the bottom right corner of the suggestions menu
  2. Enable the feature "Help me keep AcPro Search for all web searches"
From now on, all web searches will be directed to ACPro search, and you have full control over your browsing.
To disable it simply switch this setting to "Off".

Navigating and Customizing

Can I temporarily stop Complitly from offering search completion?


In Internet Explorer, do the following:

  1. Go to the "tools" menu at the top of your browser
  2. Select "Manage Add-Ons"
  3. Click "Complitly" to and click the "disable" button at the lower right corner

In Firefox

  1. Go to the "tools" menu at the top of your browser
  2. Select "Add-Ons"
  3. Click "Complitly" to and click the "disable" button at the lower right corner

In Chrome

  1. Open Chrome and go to 'Settings' > 'Tools' > 'Extension'
  2. Find 'Complitly plugin for chrome'
  3. Click 'Disable'

Troubleshooting

I installed Complitly, but it does not appear. Why?


Complitly maybe disabled.
In Internet Explorer, do the following:

  1. Go to the "tools" menu at the top of your browser
  2. Select "Manage Add-Ons"
  3. Click "Complitly" to and click the "Enable" button at the lower right corner

In Firefox, do the following:

  1. Go to the "tools" menu at the top of your browser
  2. Select "Add-Ons"
  3. Click "Complitly" to and click the "Enable" button which will appear under it

If at some point you uninstalled Complitly, and you are using a Microsoft browser, you may experience difficulty seeing it right away if you attempt to re-install it. The easiest way to make Complitly reappear is to close and restart your Web browser.

My settings are not saved, why?


In order to allow third party cookies that are used to save your settings you should :
In Internet Explorer:
1. Click Internet Options on the Tools menu.
2. On the Privacy tab, move the settings slider to Low or Accept All Cookies.
3. Click OK.

My browser says "user certificate invalid" when I attempt to download the Complitly.


You need to update your Internet Explorer browser to a more recent version.

Internet Explorer says "current security setting prohibit running" when downloading Complitly.


Internet Explorer 6.0:

  1. Go to the "Tools" menu at the top of your browser
  2. Select "Internet Options"
  3. Go to the "Security" tab and click the "Custom Level" button, then choose "Medium Safety" under "Software channel permissions" and click "OK"

Why do I keep getting search completions by Complitly after I uninstalled?


Please note that in order to uninstall Complitly, all IE and Firefox browser windows must be closed. If your un-installation problem is not addressed by this FAQ,please send an email detailing the problem.

Complitly lets your users search with ease


Complitly completes possible terms when visitors start typing the first letters of a keyword. This is especially useful for hard-to-spell searches. Auto Complete also helps site visitors save time by requiring fewer keystrokes. In addition, spelling errors occur less frequently and spelling suggestions are required less often on sites with this technology.
